Your goals aren't big enough

And don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Let me share something I learned the hard way. A year ago, I was sitting at my desk, proud of the goals I've set. They were practical. Achievable. "Smart." And that was exactly the problem.

I remember having coffee with a mentor who'd built his business from nothing. When I told him my goals, he didn't say congratulations. Instead, he asked, "Why are you thinking so small?"

That hit me hard. Here's what I've learned since then: Most of us set goals based on what we think we can achieve, not what we're actually capable of. We look at our current situation, add maybe 20-30%, and call it ambitious. But that's just playing it safe.

I've been talking to successful entrepreneurs and innovators, and none of them got where they are by making safe bets. The founder who turned $10K into a 7-figure business didn't start with a goal of "making a decent living." He started with a vision that scared him.

Your current goals? They're probably based on your past experiences, your current resources, your comfort zone. But your past isn't your potential. I had to learn this myself – when I started thinking bigger, opportunities I never imagined started showing up.

Look, I'm not saying quit your job tomorrow or risk everything. But I am saying this: Take your current goals and multiply them by 10. Feel that resistance? That voice saying "impossible"? That's exactly where growth begins.

I'm still on this journey myself, still learning, still failing forward. But I know this much: The biggest risk isn't setting a goal too big and missing it – it's setting a goal too small and hitting it.

What's your real goal? Not the one you tell others, but the one that scares you to say out loud? That's the one worth chasing.

Let's think bigger together. Because from what I've seen, we're all capable of way more than we give ourselves credit for.
